Are you ready to rent? Are you ready to say yes if you see something you like? I only ask because apartments go in seconds....one minute they are available and you are deciding and the next minute they are pulled out from under you.
My advice is always, if you want to see it, be ready to say "I'll take it" while you're standing in the middle of the kitchen :)
Most listings require 1 Month Security, 1 Month Rent and 1 Month Real Estate. Sometimes they want more security, especially if a pet is involved, so expect to pay more for a pet. Depending where you are looking on Long Island or Queens some Realtors charge a percentage of a years rent for a fee and not one month. Expect to see this in Western Nassau & Queens. I will need a copy of your W-2 or 1 months worth of Paycheck Stubs. I will need the score page of your credit report. Best to be ready with these things before you start looking!
